I. Purpose and Justification of the workshop
Considering the need for agriculture-related electronic information in some countries of Central and Eastern Europe, FAO SEUR in cooperation with IAALD and NitraNet, have organized a webmaster training course titled "Developing practical skills on Internet and CD-ROM technology", 20-24 April, 1998, in Nitra, Slovakia.
As a result, ten participants of the workshop started to develop webpages, which provide information about their national agriculture, or provide links to the relevant national information available on the Internet. These pages are now organized and linked together under the common name "Agro Web CEE Network" and connected to FAO SEUR home page. The establishment of these pages aims to become a frame of the national WAICENT services.
The goals of the proposed workshop are to increase the number of countries involved in the Agro Web CEE Network, as well as to improve the outlook and the information content of the pages, which are already published.

Workshop will be held at the University of Agriculture, Gödöllő, Hungary. Training rooms are at the "E" Building of the University of Agriculture (equipped with networked PC-s in number suitable for 22 participants). The address of "E" building is: Gödöllo, Tessedik Sámuel utca 6.The accommodation will be provided by the University Main Campus Student Dormitory guest rooms (Dormitory "D" Building).
How to get there on your own:
From Budapest Airport: There is a minibus service operated 24 hours from the Airport Terminal to any area of Budapest for 1200 HUFs (appr. 5 USD) each. You should tell the driver / service manager at the airport that you wish you to travel to the "Örs Vezér tere". There you should change for the suburban train (HÉV). In Gödöllő "Erzsébet Park" will be your first stop, and this is the one if you are heading for the workshop. The journey usually takes 40 minutes. For the accommodation you should travel two more stops so that the last stop of the suburban train is called "Gödöllo Vasútállomás", where you must get off. Dormitory "D" is just on the other side of the road in front of the train station.
From "Keleti" Railway Station: Take metro (underground) "B" (it's also called "Red Line") to "Őrs Vezér tere" (last stop), and then change for the suburban train (HÉV) and follow the same instructions as above. Alternatively there are trains from Keleti Station to Gödöllő in about every hour during the daytime This would get you to the same destination (Gödöllő Railway Station).
If you travel by car, Gödöllő is alongside the M3 toll road (north) east of Budapest. There is an exit for Gödöllő about 26 kms from Budapest. To avoid paying you can choose the old road number "30", and this will take you from Budapest city center to Gödöllo passing the Keleti Station, Örs vezér tere, Cinkota, Kerepes, etc. If you are travelling from the direction of Miskolc (Route M3) expect to pay some 800 HUFs (appr. 3,5 USD) at the Gödöllő Exit.
You can follow the routes on maps.
For your request the organizers will help you out with transportation from your point of arrival to the workshop or/and accommodation location in Gödöllo. In this case you should send the organizers the time and place of your arrival to Budapest not later then 31 March 1999.
How to get around:
Your breakfast will be served by the Dormitory. Lunch is 300 meters walk from Building "E" (the workshop location). Dinner is served by Donnatella Italian Restaurant in front of the Dormitory. Welcome Party is organized in the historical Royal Palace in the city centre of Gödöllo. Distance between building "D" and "E" is 2 kms that will usually be covered by minibus.
