EUROSAFEFOOD
- SIXTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME - PRIORITY 5 -FOOD QUALITY AND SAFETY
project, right on the heels of AgroWeb V4 Project No. II. titled Electronic
V4-EU Information Network to facilitate European agricultural integration
process especially in the fields of market regulations, rural development
programmes and food safety.
Objectives
of the project are to harmonise and integrate Associated Candidate
Countries (ACC) and New Member States (NMS) infrastructures and activities
in the field of chemical food safety with those of Member States (MS)
and to provide the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) with a network
of scientists, researchers, institutions able to address the different
aspects of the chemical contaminants in food. On the basis of country
profiles, strengths, weaknesses and training needs will be identified.
Consequently, workshops will be organized with local authorities and
relevant stakeholders to discuss results of the project, and investigate
areas of cooperation. A web site will be developed with the information
on contaminants in food in the different countries, methods to analyse
them, regulations. The network, the project reports and the website
will serve EFSA and other interested parties implementing chemical
food safety strategies.
The consortium
of SAFEFOODNET has 20 partners from 17 countries, which include 4
MS (Italy, Denmark and Germany, Belgium), 10 NMS (Hungary, Czech Republic,
Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Malta, Cyprus, Estonia)
and 3 candidate countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey).

of the project: downloading and reorganising of data from EU official
servers as well as translation of text from English to Hungarian between
09-11. 2000. Registration of WWW.EU-INFO.HU. Building of web-pages
including downloaded data is selected, restructured, processed, and
transferred to our own database in MS Access format.

7. Working session of Farm Data Information Network
The object
and location of the project: Organising a professional consultation
as well as participate as Hungarian member in the project. Gödöllő-Hungary.
The results
of the project: provided potential users with as much as possible,
specific and recent data related to farming in CEE; reduced the need,
and thus the cost, of administering data and information to the lowest
degree possible; disseminated tools for the improved collection and
use of farm data and information in order to improve farm analysis
and decision making; promoted capacity building for improved data
collection and management, and assist clients in making the best use
of available sources; promoted partnership in the interactive farm
data and information exchange.

8. AgroWeb Hungary
The object
and location of the project: International workshop for agricultural
information experts from Central and Eastern European countries, Gödöllő-Hungary.
The results
of the project: Twenty participants of the workshop started to develop
web pages, which provide information about their national agriculture,
or provide links to the relevant national information available on
the Internet. The number of countries involved in the Agro Web CEE
Network has been increased, as well as the outlook and the information
content of the pages were improved.
